McGinnis brings years of legal experience in multiple areas of practice to McMullin Injury Law. Whether his clients have been injured in an accident or another unfortunate incident, his focus is on relieving their stress, helping them get their life back and ensuring they receive appropriate compensation.

“I’ve known Shawn for a number of years and know him to be one of the nicest, most genuine and honest guys out there, someone who has the character and the qualities that exemplify McMullin Injury Law,” founding partner Anthony C. McMullin said. “He fit the bill in terms of what we were looking for.”

McGinnis obtained his law degree from Western Michigan University after spending time as an EMT, a cage fighter, a firearms instructor and the owner of a stucco company, among other pursuits. Although most of his legal career has focused on personal injury cases, he also worked for Utah Legal Services and the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office in Michigan.

Like many of the clients he represents, McGinnis has been injured in a car crash. This experience helps him understand that when people seek the help of a personal injury lawyer, it’s usually during one of the worst times in their life, and he doesn’t take the responsibility of accepting any case lightly.

“They’ve been in a crash, and they’re scared because they don’t know where to go from here. How do they get their vehicle fixed or replaced? If they’re injured, how do they get their bills paid for? What happens if they can’t work?” he said. “Basically, I get to help people in dire need and walk them through the whole process to help them get a fair settlement and get back on their feet.”

McGinnis believes that if a person causes an injury to someone else, they should be held accountable. After handling hundreds of personal injury claims worth millions of dollars, he’s not afraid to stand up to insurance companies if they refuse to cooperate.

Originally from Las Vegas, Nevada, McGinnis has called St. George home for over 30 years and graduated from the former Dixie State University. He has been married to Stacey, an elementary school teacher, for 36 years, and they have five wonderful children along with seven adorable and mischievous grandchildren.

McGinnis and his wife love living in Southern Utah and are heavily involved in the community. They support numerous local causes, including the Jubilee of Trees, Coins for Kids, Christmas toy drives and police associations.

“It’s a great place to live,” he said. “We’ve got wonderful people living here that are kind and caring. We just try to help improve the community and serve in whatever capacity that we can.”

Established in 2012, McMullin Injury Law has grown to become one of the largest law firms in Southern Utah. The firm includes seven attorneys plus a support staff of 16. Their main office is located in downtown St. George, and they operate a satellite office in Cedar City.

McMullin Injury Law works exclusively on personal injury cases, including accidents involving cars, motorcycles, bicycles, trucking, dog bites, slip and fall injuries, workers’ compensation and wrongful death. The firm was created with an emphasis on clients, McMullin said, to focus on the human aspect of their injuries.

“We’re leaders in the personal injury field in Utah,” he added. “We have the people and the services that allow us to be very successful in protecting and helping those who have been injured through no fault of their own.”

The attorneys at McMullin Injury Law look beyond medical bills to determine the value of a case, working with each client to understand exactly what they’re going through and how their injury has affected their life. They work on a contingency basis, which means services don’t cost clients anything out of pocket – ever. The firm has handled thousands of cases in Utah, Nevada and Arizona, recovering over $100 million total for their clients.
