ST. GEORGE — A two-car collision on River Road in St. George Sunday evening injured one woman and slowed traffic for about 30 minutes.
Around 5:45 p.m., a Nissan passenger car was traveling north on River Road, approaching the entrance to the Target parking lot, St. George Police Sgt. Dave Williams said. A black Chevrolet SUV, exiting the shopping center parking lot, did not see the Nissan car and smashed into the passenger door of the car.
The woman driving the Nissan car was slightly injured but refused ambulance transport to the hospital, Williams said. She arranged for private transport to Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George for facial injuries sustained during the collision.
Neither the driver of the Chevrolet SUV or the passenger in the Nissan car reported any injuries, Williams said.
The driver of the Chevrolet SUV was issued a citation for failure to yield, he said.
Both cars were disabled and had to be towed from the scene.
This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement or other emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.
