My name is Doug Radunich, and I had recently applied for the open journalistic reporter position. I have a bachelor’s degree in journalism and broadcasting, and have written for several newspapers all around Utah. However, I was wondering if the position was full-time, or if it was only part-time or freelance. Any information would be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Doug

Mr. Radunich, we are pleased to have received your application. I have replied to you by email. Thank you so much.

      Doug,
Apparently they did not teach reading comprehension with your BA degree. The first line states “St. George News is seeking full-time qualified news reporters……”. Just an observation for you to consider; when you do not get an interview.

I will forward you the material requested for the position, though it seems like a copious amount for an email attachment. The question I have is, “Do you employ proofreaders?” Notice the advertisement to the right for “Doge” the picture is of a truck not a Venetian magistrate. Either the picture is wrong or your advertising people (not to mention the car dealer) do not check their work. Just saying. . .

I’m retired and bored. How much would I have to pay you to work there?

    • JOSH DALTON November 11, 2013 at 4:40 pm

I feel you should re-word your request for employment. I am not a HR specialist, but your request in my experience is negative and synical. Why would anyone hire somebody like that. Maybe that is why you are “retired and bored.”

So do you really have an opening? If so, might help to post it NEW and eliminate all the old comments from ages ago. I actually looked at this the other day and thought it was an old thing that just needed deleting.

We do. And we don’t typically delete comments. The information on the Employment Opportunities page, however, changes as our needs change. 😀

“AP style” ??…..no thanks. I value my privacy. 😉

    Hello,
My name is Chris and I am currently a student at Dixie State University of Utah in St. George. I am considering applying for the St. George News as a journalist but I was wondering if you have any bias towards movie and books reviews (I would be a critic in other words) as I wrote an article for one or both categories every month for three years when I was in high school. I currently have no other work though I will be applying here and there where I can and thought about applying for this to write the reviews I wrote in High School once again.

    Thank you,
    Christopher Cleveland

I’ve been trying to find information on any openings for something like freelance photographers on your team. I run a computer repair service, which does not allow me a full time position, but does allow me complete flexibility with my schedule. I have 3 years of a portfolio, sports, event, family, etc. Should I still
    apply?

Already send my resume. If need more samples of my work let me know. I’m ready for start full time.
    Thanks.

Would you be interested on a Spanish speaking person for a similar position? I also have photography skills. Thank you!

    Hi,

I have a few questions regarding this position. When is the start date and what is the salary?

    Thanks so much!

    • Joyce Kuzmanic Joyce Kuzmanic June 18, 2014 at 8:40 pm

Both vary depending on the applicant, if you’ll submit the package suggested with your phone number, we’ll be glad to give you a call, Skye.

    Hi,
I’m a fan of the St George news, and I would love to work for you, but I worry that I lack the exact experience you are seeking, being 18 and working on finishing my associates degree at DSU. Are there any other positions available? I’m smart, willing, and a fast learner. (I can submit my resume, regardless, if that would help.)
Please email me and let me know.
    Thank you!

    • Joyce Kuzmanic Joyce Kuzmanic July 25, 2014 at 8:21 am

      Ashley,
Feel free to submit your application package – explain your interest, as you’ve done here. We’ll take a look at it.

Society is always trying to blame someone these days. This was an accident. The runners got over, went single file. Driver had the sun in his eyes as has happened to anyone who’s driven a lot. Everyone tried to do their best. That’s why it’s called an “accident”. It is a tragedy for all involved.
