Shortly before 6 p.m. PST, a bus driver reportedly experienced a medical event, causing them to lose control of the vehicle at Desert Sands Way and 2nd South Street, Mesquite Fire Lt. Spencer Lewis told St. George News.

The bus hit a tree, a light pole and a short brick wall, with some debris hitting a nearby home, he said.

The house’s occupants were reportedly uninjured. Lewis said that of the three bus passengers, two left the scene of their own accord. The third passenger and the bus driver were transported to Mesa View Regional Hospital.

“(There were) no major injuries to any of the occupants,” he said.

This report is based on statements from first responders and law enforcement officials and may not contain the full scope of findings.
