ST. GEORGE — A St. George woman was arrested Thursday after being found in possession of drugs following a home burglary where she allegedly stole $1,800 worth of jewelry.

Officers originally responded to a residence on the 2000 West block of 1700 North in St. George after reports that Nicole Jordan had entered the home and took multiple items without permission, St. George Police Officer Jared Carlson wrote in a probable cause statement supporting the arrest. The items alleged to have been taken included approximately $1,800 worth of jewelry and 24 prescription pills.

Officers ran Jordan’s name through their system and discovered she also had two active warrants for her arrest in Washington City, Carlson said in the statement. Another St. George Police officer located Jordan in her boyfriend’s car near 2045 W. 1700 North in St. George.

Upon searching Jordan, Carlson discovered a bag of unused needles, a spoon covered with a brown substance and a bag containing a similar brown residue, Carlson said in the statement.

“(Jordan) stated the brown substance on the spoon was heroin and she had used one of the needles to inject heroin three hours before we made contact with her,” Carlson said in the statement.

After performing a test on the brown residue, officers found the substance did test positive for heroin, Carlson said in the statement. Along with the drugs, Jordan also admitted to stealing the jewelry from the residence, but denied taking the other items.

She denied taking any prescription medication from the residence,” Carlson said in the statement.

Jordan was arrested and charged with two second-degree felonies for the possession of a controlled substance and the burglary of a dwelling; one third-degree felony for theft; and one class B misdemeanor for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jordan was booked into the Washington County Purgatory Correctional Facility on Thursday. Her bail is set at $20,000.

Persons arrested or charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law or as otherwise decided by a trier-of-fact.

    Classy gal, this one.

    • Zonkerb November 17, 2014 at 3:14 am

Oh yeah she’s the kind of gal you take home to meet your parents

      • Koolaid November 17, 2014 at 7:18 am

        And buy jewelry for.

  • Koolaid November 16, 2014 at 7:05 pm

Nicole looks more like a Nicholas. After recovering the stolen jewelry, did the police check Nicole for family jewels just to be sure she was a she and not a he? Women in St George are looking more masculine all the time.

Honestly St George News, are these the types of comments you really hoped for when you made this forum available??? Koolaid is one example of the snarky, low-class, no-class commentators that fill your comment section every day. They add nothing to the story; they add nothing of value, they simply denigrate the community, individuals, religion, law enforcement, and just about any other group they can offend. Free Speech rules. But why does a news site feel it necessary to make this the soapbox for these regularly crass comments. All comments go through a moderator; you’d never know it.

      • Zonkerb November 16, 2014 at 10:30 pm

This forum wasn’t designed to revolve around you and self centeredness KOOLAID is allowed to his point of view on any article on this forum just as much as anybody is. You don’t like what people have to say then don’t log on. And then move to N Korea you would be happier there

      • tight magic undies November 16, 2014 at 11:00 pm

Free speech rules? Wink, wink. As long as you follow the bishop’s advice. While I don’t agree with everything Koolaid writes, he has the right to do it. And one thing he does do, is question the church, and it’s over-bearing ways. Which as a “non koolaid” drinker, is quite refreshing around here.

        • Teacher November 17, 2014 at 9:47 am

You are funny! I have to say I’ve never asked any bishop for advice on free speech.

Calling Koolaid out is also an exercise of free speech, but don’t worry, I don’t expect consistency from you or others on here.

        AMEN!!!!

      • Dana November 17, 2014 at 6:32 am

Oh my heck! Somebody call his bishop!

  • KIkiD November 16, 2014 at 10:24 pm

Right on MickeyD. I have mostly stopped reading comments for just this reason.

    • Sunnygurl November 17, 2014 at 9:07 am

I hate how ignorant it makes all of Southern Utah look, just because of the handful of trolls on this website. I think they should make people use their real names instead of names they can hide behind. Bring some accountability to the ignorance and see how that changes the comment boards!

      • Herd November 17, 2014 at 1:54 pm

        You tell ’em, SUNNYGURL!!!!

  • redbird November 16, 2014 at 10:39 pm

    I completely agree with Mikeyd.

  • Notagain November 16, 2014 at 11:07 pm

    I think St. George News would rather have more constructive comments on their news feeds but hey, look at it this way;
Everybody has a voice in the community. By hearing everyone, we can get a handle on all view points. Granted, some yahoos just have boring life’s and are just reaching out for a pat on the head. Even the neighbor in question, when he/she is serious on a subject, does have some interesting points of view.
The moderator must have a sense of humor to say ‘Hey folks! I think KOOLAID is hitting the bottle again, What say you?
Shoot, even some of the commentator sound like kinda out there on occasion. What say you Ed?

  • whining November 17, 2014 at 1:39 am

  • Dana November 17, 2014 at 6:35 am

Seriously people, would anyone even guess that any house on 1700 N had any jewelry? Especially THAT amount of jewelry.

  • sagemoon November 17, 2014 at 9:02 am

I love the comments from everyone. Keep ’em coming!

    • Koolaid November 17, 2014 at 11:12 am

The ridiculous comments sometimes bring humor to the problems in this area, problems in the past were overlooked or swept under the carpet by previous news sources.

      • Notagain November 17, 2014 at 12:28 pm

KOOLAID, Been reading any Mark Twain novels or watching George Carlin reruns lately?
I agree with you that the St. George News format has been the best thing to ever happen to this community.
My hats off to the St. George News staff. (with one exception, Ed’s take on life when he has had one too many Margaritas). and
I still think KOOLAID & Ed K. are one in the same dude.

  • TIGHT MAGIC. UNDIES November 17, 2014 at 9:05 am

I must apologize for my insensitive comments and my name. I know this doesn’t give me a good reason to say stupid comments. But being raised by parents that have neglected me my hole life. And being taken advantage. Of my hole life. Being well degraded in the most horrific way, turning to drugs, alcohal, men southe of the border, even now being miss treated by my animals, and my self. I’m over weight and look horrible, my breath is foul and my body as a hole. My story ties in to this as one robber robs from robber. It’s like when my dad made me. He stole from my mom and she had stolen from her neighbor. Now I fill like Robin Hood. I steal from the minds of the intelligent folks. Then make stupid comments for the stupider to have something to read, then they have something to say. The reason I us the name I us to make comments is trying to degrade others, because I am so degrading. I was going to us the name of my undies but I felt the Dirty Stained Panties would offend others like my self. The dr. wanted a sample of urine, stool, and seaman from me so I sent my underware. Again anyone who may have been offended please forgive me.

    • Notagain November 17, 2014 at 10:29 am

Join the human race Undies. The water is fine. And yes, we forgive you.

    • sagemoon November 17, 2014 at 10:48 am

^^^This isn’t even the real Tight Magic Undies. It’s that barely literate weirdo who keeps commenting using others’ names. The most crass person on the comment boards? This barely literate weirdo!

      • dancing infidel November 17, 2014 at 11:07 am

I agree SAGEMOON. The name isn’t typed the way the real TIGHTMAGICUNDIES types it. Good eye SAGEMOON.

    • Koolaid December 1, 2014 at 2:36 pm

Your parents could have averted these issues by dropping you on your head a few more times.

  • True tell November 17, 2014 at 9:06 am

We except. It takes courage to tell the truth Magic.

It was my house and my son caught her red handed and she bolted out the front door she has a big problem and hopefully she can get help

    • Betty November 18, 2014 at 2:51 pm

How gracious of you KAT, even after she stole from you! Way to go. Its unthinkable (to someone who has never had an addiction) to wrap their mind around a drug addicts thought process. I too join you in hope and prayer that she will get the help she needs to offload that monkey she is carrying around.

  • Trollcone November 17, 2014 at 6:01 pm

Not josh DO NOT refer to SAGEMOON like this again. Thanks

  • tight magic undies November 17, 2014 at 10:01 pm

Well the locals are out in full force! Must be the 3.2 beer, or the years of constant inbreeding getting to them. Nice to see them battling back, even though they are a little lame.
