ST. GEORGE — St. George area youth are invited to join community high school horseshoe teams. Horseshoes is a coed sport; beginner to advanced levels are welcome.

High school horseshoe pitching teams compete against other area teams. The sport is sanctioned by the National Horseshoe Pitchers Association. Coaching will be provided by St. George Horseshoe Pitching Club leaders.

High school students in the St. George area along with homeschool and middle school students ages 13 and over may join. Team practices will start in late March. Weekly inter-school matches begin in early April and will run through mid-May.

Besides being social and fun, the Utah High School Horseshoe League will crown a high school team state champion and build up high school involvement in competitive horseshoes. There are many opportunities for individual and team awards.

Contact Washington County Utah High School Horseshoe League volunteer team coordinator Ken Adams with any questions and to learn about registration by email at [email protected] or calling 435-680-2779.
