Registration deadlines nearing for both Cedar City Little Leagues

CEDAR CITY — Little League baseball and softball registrations for youth ages 9-14 are taking place this week for both of Cedar City’s leagues.

Players who are 8 years old may also be eligible, provided they meet certain criteria. There are three age divisions in each league: minors (ages 8-10), majors (11-12) and juniors (13-14).

The regular seasons of both leagues start in mid-April and last until the end of May, followed by post-season playoffs and tournaments.

The Cedar National Little League, which is for youth living within Canyon View High School boundaries, is accepting registrations until March 6. Cost is $75 per player. For more information or to register online, visit the league’s website. Tryouts will be held March 15 at the fields at Veteran’s Park.

Meanwhile, the Cedar American Little League, which is for youth living within the boundaries of Cedar High School, has its registration open until noon on March 7, with softball tryouts being held that same day at Diamond Z Arena. Baseball tryouts are scheduled for the following day, March 8. Registration is $70 per player. For more information, visit the league’s website.
