Garden club hosts ‘For the Love of Lavender’

ST. GEORGE — “For the Love of Lavender,” is the topic of the monthly program of the Dixie Garden Club. The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 20 at 1 p.m.

Members Hila McKasson and Wendy Basso will share their knowledge of the many varieties of this fragrant perennial. Members and guests will learn the history, medicinal and culinary uses; varieties, plus growing and caring of lavender. We’ll also have some memorable quotes from lavender in literature.

Members and guests will also exchange plants, cuttings, and seeds. So be sure to bring some of your favorite plants and seeds to share..

The meeting will be held at the Relief Society House, 100 W. Telegraph in Washington City. Weather permitting the event will be held in the garden.
