Love for Alanya: a child battling cancer

Please help support Alanya and family any way you can, either by liking the page and inviting your friends or by supporting through gofundme. Any help is appreciated!

A brief history

Last May, after a heart-wrenching couple of months during which Kristine couldn’t find an adequate medical diagnosis for two-year-old daughter Alanya’s severe health issues, an MRI revealed a brain tumor that had grown to the point that it threatened her life.

Alanya was life-flighted to Primary Children’s Hospital from her home in St. George that day and underwent two surgeries to remove the tumor within a 48-hour period.

But that was just the beginning. Multiple rounds of aggressive chemotherapy were required, which frequently kept Kristine away from her older son, Markus, who remained in St. George, as well as the job that supports her family.

On April 2 of this year, following agonizing months of chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant, Alanya was declared cancer-free. This same finding was reported at her three-month check-up. Things were looking very positive as the family began preparations for a trip to Disney World from the Make-a-Wish Foundation in October.

On Aug. 6 at her 6-month check-up, the whole story changed: the cancer is back, with multiple tumors in Alanya’s brain and spine. Make-a-Wish was able to move up her trip to last week, but now the family must once again face the prospects of months of treatments with an unknown prognosis.

Prayers and any other support is appreciated! Please visit Facebook or Gofundme to donate.
