SANTA CLARA — The Santa Clara Desert Arboretum cacti are blooming.

The Santa Clara Desert Arboretum is a series of interesting trails covering many desert ecosystems. It crosses a wetlands ecosystem with a bridge across the Tuacahn wash. The south entrance is just across from little league park on Little League Drive. The east entrance and parking lot is located on Lava Cove Drive.

The trail heads through the lava and then drops down into a hidden cactus garden. Now would be a great time to take the family on a short hike through the arboretum.

Most of the plants are labeled and you can learn and enjoy our changing desert environment.
