Local exchange club elects president

ST. GEORGE — There is something happening in the National Exchange Club organization and it is exciting.

Recently, the local St. George Exchange Club members participated in the Rocky Mountain District Convention in Las Vegas on May 31 and June 1.

This convention was unique in that the Southwest District (Arizona & New Mexico and El Paso, Texas) joined in the convention with the Rocky Mountain District (Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, and Mesquite, Nevada) to become the Four Corners District.

Neal Smith from the St. George Exchange Club was elected to be the District President of the new Four Corners District Exchange Clubs that is made up of 25 clubs and over 400 members. The Exchange Clubs inspire communities to become better places to live.

This can be found in our own local St. George Exchange Club that does the Mayor’s Walk during the Marathon, Kids Fun Run (during the Ironman event), the Southern Utah Performing Arts Festival that has over 5,000 students show off their musical talents and is working with other community organizations to bring the Tomb of the unknown Soldier Replica to the Washington County Fair this summer.

Come and join us on Thursday, June 13 at our membership drive breakfast.

Call club president Mindy Suttner at 435-256-5550 for more details.
