Gingerbread parade to march its way around St. George

ST. GEORGE — With the goal of bringing together area businesses to benefit a local nonprofit and create an idyllic family and community Christmas experience, the Gingerbread Parade is coming to St. George.

The parade runs through Dec. 14. Participating businesses in the St. George area will showcase uniquely crafted gingerbread houses and then visitors may cast votes for their favorite houses.

The houses will remain at the area businesses for two weeks and then at the Holiday Market sponsored by Downtown Farmers Market held Dec. 14, from 1-4 p.m., in historic Ancestor Square.

Votes will enter a drawing to win various prizes donated by local businesses; a cool cash prize of $50 and the best Gingerbread house baker will win a prize of $300.

At this event, the participating businesses have included items or services to be auctioned together with the gingerbread houses and every penny earned, will benefit the St. George Children’s Museum.
