Flag Day Celebration
Sponsored by: Dixie High School Junior ROTC.
When: 14 June 2022 at 6 p.m.
Where: Dixie High School south parking lot.
What: flag day celebration and official flag retirements.
Drop your worn, tattered and torn flags to one of four fire stations in St George for the official celebration and flag retirement ceremony.
Fire station drop off points open 24 hours a day (best drop off time 7a.m. to 8p.m.). Flags will be picked up on Saturday, June 11, from these locations.
- 51 south 1000 east St George (this is the main location and best drop off point).
- 184 north 2450 east St George.
- 1912 west 1800 north St George.
- 1096 west bluegrass drive St George.
Program: from 6-7:15 p.m.
Honor guard presentation of the flag and flyover.
Veteran guest speaker.
Presentation of a new flag for local business.
Appropriate official retirement ceremony of old flags.
Special VIP guests: St George fire chief, military members and first responders and their families, National Guard representative, Veterans of American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and all veterans.
Light refreshments will be served after the celebration and official flag retirement ceremony.
