ST. GEORGE — Dixie State University visiting professor of history and political science Shadman Bashir will provide analyses on terrorism in the United States, courtesy of the Dixie State University Institute of Politics and Public Affairs.
Bashir will present “Understanding Terrorism in the US” at 6 p.m. Feb. 20, in the Dunford Auditorium on the Dixie State campus. Admission is free, and the public is encouraged to attend.
Bashir grew up in the tribal regions of Pakistan and has many years of research and teaching experience in issues related to laws, global conflicts and terrorism. Some of the courses taught by Bashir at Dixie State University include Criminal Law, Global Law, War and Terrorism. In this lecture, he will focus primarily on terrorism within United States.
Bashir speaks six languages and multiple dialects. He received a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Edwardes College and an L.L.B in English and Islamic law from the University of Peshawar, in Peshawar, Pakistan. He then moved to the U.S. and received a master’s in comparative law L.L.M from California Western School of Law in San Diego, California.
