Coyote Tales Live Storytelling Event at Ivins City Park

Join us for Coyotes Tales Live Storytelling this weekend.

Get your story heard.
Saturday evening, April 30, 7 p.m.
Free, live storytelling event under the stars at Ivins City Park

Theme for the evening’s stories: “Silver Lining.”

Poignant, thought-provoking, vivid and entertaining as all get out, Coyote Tales Storytelling Events are a hit for all the right reasons! Coyote Tales are true stories told live, onstage without notes, props or accompaniments.

Stories told must be based on the evening’s theme and be told within five minutes. Storytellers may interpret the theme in any way they choose.

Do you have an interesting story about optimism? Has a gloomy situation revealed a rosy interior? Has a bit of Pollyannaism comforted you in a time of disappointment? Perhaps a setback contained the potential for a beneficial outcome? But even if you just want to listen to the stories, come and enjoy a night of live storytelling and great bluegrass music under the stars at Ivins City Park.

Please join us in welcoming Brady Udall to the stage. Mr. Udall is the New York Times bestselling author of Letting Loose the Hounds, The Miracle Life of Edgar Mint and The Lonely Polygamist. He will be joined on stage by sixth-generation local Utah storyteller, Lyman Hafen, Professor of English and author, Todd Robert Petersen and storytelling newcomer and soon to be published author, Jeffrey Owens.

But that’s not all, six other storytellers from the audience will also throw down their tales of looking on the bright side.

This free event begins with bluegrass music provided by Stillhouse Road and a bring-your-own-picnic party, where potential storytellers put their names in the hat in hopes of being one of the 10 people chosen to share their tale of finding the bright side. Kayenta Homes and Properties will be on hand hosting a free gourmet water ‘trough’ for thirsty story lovers.

If you’re interested in getting on stage, or to find out more about us, contact Victoria at this website.
While there you can hear previous live and virtual events and get tips and tricks
for crafting your own great tale.

Copies of many of the evening’s invited storyteller’s books will be available for sale at the event and at The Book Bungalow. The Book Bungalow is an independent bookstore located in downtown St. George at the corner of 100 West and Tabernacle Street.
