Church Volunteers To Support National 9/11 Day of Service

This Saturday, September 9, volunteers from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will join with interfaith and community groups around the state in the National 9/11 Day of Service.

More than 30 million Americans across the country participate, dedicating time each 9/11 to helping others in need, and rekindling the spirit of unity that brought Americans together in the days following the 9/11 tragedy. Individuals from all walks of life, independent of religious, ethnic, political, or socio-economic backgrounds come together on this day to serve their fellowman.

More than 60,000 volunteers of all ages will help support this effort in Utah, with more than 300 projects available, and millions of dollars of economic impact and assistance for cities, counties, schools, the homeless, refugees, children, and those struggling with food insecurity.

Local service projects in communities across the state can be found by simply searching the zip code at and journalists are welcome to interview volunteers at a project in their local community.
