The Tilted Kiln’s new gallery will be displaying artwork of local artist, Mel Scott, this February in her show titled “Lem Ttocs.” This exhibition will consist of a body of work Mel created in the 1990’s to originally be displayed at the St. George Art Museum in 1999.
The paintings as a group tell a story of family generations, self-identity, and connection to the Divine through color and expression. The artist’s opening reception will be held on Monday, Feb. 6, 2023, from 5-8 p.m. and is open to the public. The gallery also includes a selection of pottery that is made in-house and available for purchase. We look forward to celebrating Mel Scott as a pillar here in the Southern Utah Art Community.
The Tilted Kiln’s Gallery will be displaying monthly exhibitions tailored to local and regional artists, both on a solo and group basis. You can find more information for open calls to artists on our website or get in touch with Gallery Coordinator, Natalie Gula, at [email protected] with any questions.
