2nd annual EmPower Gala to focus on human trafficking

ST. GEORGE — Global Education Philanthropists (Global EP), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, announced the organization’s second annual fundraising gala in St. George to be held on Friday, May 10, 2019 at the premier Courtyard Marriott.

Proceeds from the event will be used to empower communities through education and aid human trafficking survivors.

Making for an exceptional event, “this year’s gala will be especially exciting because we will be raising funds to provide aid to those locally and internationally. I am excited to see the community come together to raise funds for those in need throughout the world” said Cami Bowker, Global EP’s CEO.

The event will celebrate Global EP’s work empowering communities worldwide and aiding human trafficking survivors.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for an inspiring evening including dinner, comedy, performances, and live and silent auctions.

Auction items include all-inclusive family vacations, autographed music and sports memorabilia. Attendees will also hear the personal live story of a human trafficking survivor.

Throughout the evening, the organization will unveil its exciting upcoming projects. There will be a special announcement from long-time supporter Travis Seegmiller, Utah State House 62nd District Representative.

The organization is focusing on raising funds for projects to lift villagers out of the vicious poverty cycle. These projects include purchasing a 3D cement printer to build homes, schools, medical clinics and powering these through solar energy, thanks to Global EP’s partnership with Salt Lake City-based Skyline Solar, who has donated an estimated $20,000 of solar panels for the charity to install in Haiti.

Tickets are available through website. The event will take place at Courtyard Marriott, 185 S. 1470 East, St. George. The hotel is offering discount lodging rates for out-of-town gala attendees.
