CONTRIBUTED CONTENT — Do you know someone who’s constantly performing acts of service without expecting anything in return? Burke + Beckstrom Orthodontics wants to hear about it.
Southern Utah’s No. 1 orthodontic practice, Burke + Beckstrom, is encouraging the community to nominate selfless do-gooders for an opportunity to be highlighted and win prizes through their #payitforward campaign.
“It’s been really, really fun to see and recognize the good that goes on in Southern Utah,” marketing director Darci Burke said. “Little acts of service really make a difference in people’s lives, and I don’t think people realize the impact that has on others. We want to highlight and show that.”
Nominees can be of any age, and acts of kindness or service can vary from simple to grand. Either way, they want to hear about it. Burke said everyone in the community can nominate anyone, which means none of the participating parties are required to be a patient at Burke + Beckstrom.
The Burke + Beckstrom team started the #payitforward campaign a year ago and have loved seeing nominations for those doing everything from humanitarian work to simply being a good neighbor. The goal? Finding people in the community who are doing their part to make Southern Utah, and the world around it, a better place to live.
Three separate winners have already been selected, and a new winner will be announced once per quarter. After receiving nominations, Burke + Beckstrom chooses a winner. A highlight video is then created showing those who nominated them and why, along with a video of the dental office surprising the winner with their award.
Past awards have included cash and gifts. Each prize is catered to the individual winner’s needs and wants. In just a few weeks, their most recent winner and his family will be sent on a trip to Disneyland.

Burke + Beckstrom takes pride in their commitment to supporting communities. To further their efforts for local youth, the practice passes out and sells “Smile Forward” cards that help students with inspiration for acts of kindness. Some of the card ideas include writing encouraging words on the sidewalk, pet sitting or babysitting for free, mowing the neighbor’s lawn and donating stuffed animals to the children’s ward at a local hospital.
At Burke + Beckstrom, they know that keeping a healthy smile is important, and their goal is to help patients “Smile Forward” with confidence. A confident smile is contagious, and Dr. Brandon Burke and Dr. Brian Beckstrom are using the latest technology combined with years of knowledge and experience to make it happen.
When Burke + Beckstrom first opened, the orthodontists asked themselves how they could become the best version of themselves while helping others grow. While a smile is critically important, they knew that also required giving, putting the needs and wants of others before their own, never giving up in the face of adversity and putting their best foot forward.
Burke + Beckstrom believes that when a beautiful, healthy smile is combined with a sincere desire to become better, little by little the whole world improves.
“We always want to be a part of improving our community,” Burke said. “But we’re also highlighting the good that already goes on in the community that we serve. And that’s what we’re doing here.”
