The Washington County Search and Rescue team helped a female hiker who fell on the Asperation Trail above the Southern Parkway exit of Interstate 15. At the same time, Santa Clara-Ivins Fire and Rescue came to the aid of another hiker who fell on the trail to Scott Cave in Snow Canyon above Ivins.

Both injuries were non-life threatening and each was able to be carried out.

At Aspiration Trail, rescuers hiked on a trail lined with rocks painted by previous hikers to reach the woman who injured an ankle shortly before 11 a.m., according to Washington County Sherriff Deputy Keegan Mitton, who stood with a Gold Cross Ambulance worker ready to receive the injured hiker.

As the Washington County SAR team marched back up, they thought they were about to head out and assist the SCI team in Snow Canyon. As soon as they reached the trailhead, they were told to stand down with the firefighters in Ivins able to safely carry out the injured party there.
