After a long and courageous battle with PKAN, our beautiful daughter, Aubrey Lucianne Jessop, age 9, passed away in her mother’s arms, and next to her twin sister, on May 17, 2023.
Aubrey and Angie were born on July 8, 2013, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Noreen Zitting Jessop and Lester Ray Jessop. Their hearts and stories have been linked since.
Aubrey and Angie shared more than just looks, they also had their own twin language. Other than family names like “Mom,” “Dad,” “Ang,” “Aub” and “D”, they spoke babble. All it took was one glance, then they’d jabber a stream and head off to create chaos. Before long, they would empty Noreen’s closet of shoes, unload the pantry or scatter their toys until you couldn’t cross the floor.
Aubrey was a happy, charming little girl. Her good nature was only overshadowed when her daddy got home from work and picked up the wrong girl first. The sisters competed for loves with Lester. From day one, Aubrey was the strongest of the pair and often led out, showing Angie how to crawl and what to wear. If there was mischief, it was Angie leading, and if there was a fight, it was Aubrey making peace.
Aubrey loved the noise and excitement of her big brother Daron. It didn’t take big “D” long before he was holding their bottles and bringing them toys. He couldn’t wait for his sisters to grow up and play — but once they were old enough to play, they were old enough to steal his toys.
A soft and gentle soul, Aubrey was naturally nurturing. She loved her family, any pet, dandelions, butterflies and the color purple. She especially adored women. Aubrey was a mommy’s girl and loved everything Noreen liked — from shoes and purses to glitter, bows, sunglasses and frills. Noreen had fun dressing her daughters, and Aubrey was game for all the fun.
Aubrey loved school. She was artistic and always excited to bring her art home and display it for her family. Aubrey and Angie had outstanding teachers, who went to great lengths to love and engage the girls. When Aubrey and Angie were too weak to go to school, their teachers brought the fun and art projects home to them.
Once again, Aubrey is leading out, leaving the pain of these past few months behind and paving the road for her sister’s transition. Words cannot express the loss or fill the void that little Aubrey leaves behind. She will live within our hearts forever.
We are eternally grateful for our circle of friends and family who came to our aid in a mobilization of love and support during Aubrey’s short stay on this earth. Aubrey is preceded in death by her big brother Daron Jessop. She is survived by her sister Angela Amy Jessop, her parents Noreen Zitting Jessop and Lester Ray Jessop and many grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 25, at 1 p.m. at Spilsbury Mortuary in St. George, Utah.

There will be a viewing at Spilsbury Mortuary on Wednesday, May 24, 6-8 p.m., and again on Thursday from 11 am.-1 p.m. Interment will be in the Tonaquint Cemetery.
