ST. GEORGE — The Hive 435 is the place to be in St. George’s historic district. In this week’s episode of “What’s on the Menu,” host Sheldon Demke brought his brother-in-law, Brendan Allen, downtown to try some of their signature cocktails and gourmet eats.

They started with the breakfast charcuterie board, which is made to share with up to four people. The Hive 435 doesn’t skimp, loading it up with regular waffles and bacon waffles as well as smoked salmon, prosciutto, lemon honey ricotta cheese, assorted fruit and pistachios. And don’t forget the dips: peanut butter, syrup and Nutella.

“Now this is how I do breakfast,” Demke said.

Next, the meat lovers’ pizza. Sausage, pepperoni, salami, bacon with mozzarella and parmesan cheeses plus marinara and pesto sauces.

“The pesto, it’s the pesto that makes the difference,” Demke said.

The Hive 435 is known for their specialty cocktails, so Demke and Allen couldn’t leave without trying one. They opted for the Hive Old Fashioned, a classic blend of High West double rye whiskey, honey, orange and ginger bitters. The perfection of the smoky citrus taste will have you seeing the world through vintage-tinted lenses.
