CEDAR CITY — A man was seriously injured in a single-vehicle rollover crash on state Route 130 near Minersville on Tuesday morning.

The incident reportedly occurred just before 6:30 a.m. on SR-130 near mile marker 40, a few miles south of Minersville.

Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Randy Riches said the driver of a Jeep Cherokee was heading south on the highway when he lost control of the vehicle and went off the right side of the roadway.

“The Jeep rolled and ejected the male driver, who was not restrained,” Riches told Cedar City News.

The man, who Riches said is in his mid-40s, was later transported by ground ambulance to an area hospital.  Although Riches described the man’s injuries as “significant,” he added that they do not appear to be life-threatening.

Fatigue and possible impairment are being investigated as contributing factors to the crash, Riches added.

This report is based on preliminary statements from law enforcement officials and may not contain the full scope of findings.
