Tereece Marie Grover Olsen

July 11, 1937-April 19, 2023

Tereece Marie Grover Olsen, 85, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2023, in Twin Falls, Idaho. She was born on July 11, 1937, in Madison County, Idaho, to LuDean Andersen Grover and John Russell Grover. She married William Blaine Olsen on June 15, 1962, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.

Tereece was raised in Archer, Idaho. She attended the University of Idaho for two years and graduated from Brigham Young University with a teaching degree. She taught school in Idaho, Alaska, California and Utah. While teaching school in Salt Lake City, she met her sweetheart Bill Olsen. They moved to Montana together where their first two sons, Bill and Erik, were born. It was a magical time for them living close to Yellowstone National Park and beginning their little family. They moved to Washington County where their last three children were born, and they raised their kids to adulthood. She finished her teaching career teaching special education at Hurricane Middle School.

Tereece enjoyed reading, sewing, gardening, and nature. She loved road trips with and visiting family. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings in the Primary, Young Women’s and Relief Society. She and her husband Bill served two missions for their church after retirement.

She is loved and will be missed.

She is survived by her children William R. Olsen (Diana), Erik L. Olsen (Mayeth), John B. Olsen (Melanee), Katherine Penrose (Michael) and Kurt Olsen, 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Her brother, Blair Grover, and her sisters Leila Gould, Minon Triplet and Nancy Perkins. 

She is preceded in death by her husband and her grandson Christian Olsen. 

A viewing for Tereece will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023, from 9-9:30 am, at Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 South Bluff St., St. George, Utah, followed by the funeral services at 10 a.m.

She will be interred at the Washington City Cemetery, 300 Park View Drive, Washington, Utah.
