Feb. 1, 1940-Jan. 4, 2023

Lawrence Edward Area was born on Feb. 1, 1940, to Oscar and Gertrude Area in Santa Ana, California. After a long and adventurous life, he passed away at the age of 82 from cardiac arrest on Jan. 4, 2023. He has been cremated in line with his wishes. 

He is survived by Sharon, his wonderful wife of 61 years, and his two children Tami and Clark. 

His oldest, Tami, is married to Brad and they have four children: Amanda (her son Cope), Allison (Husband Jake, Children Melody, Versailles and Mateo), Brian (his wife Samantha, Children Van and Denise), and Madelyn. Clark is married to Jennifer, and they share four children: Jessica (her daughter Esmee), Caitlyn (her husband Brandyn, children Charlotte and Briggs), Madison (her husband Charles, children Nahe and Clark) and Bronson. 

They all mourn his passing and honor his adventurous life. 

His legacy and friends will gather to celebrate him on his favorite holiday, April 1, 2023, from 2-4 p.m., at Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 South Bluff St., St George, Utah. 

The family invites those who knew and loved him to come remember his goofy, generous, loving and prankster ways with them. The loss of his boisterous laugh, warm bear hugs, and his unconditional love will be immensely missed, but their memory cherished for decades to come.

The loss is immeasurable, but so is the love he left behind. Until we meet again in the eternities, Larry, you will be missed and loved. Forever, ever.
