Paper Jams: Get ‘high on life’ with the otherworldly harmonies and melodies of Projekt Listen

FEATURE — Southern Utah’s live music scene is flourishing, and the Canyon Media crew is back to highlighting local musicians. So gather around for another session of “Paper Jams.”

Coming to you from Cloud 9 Studios at Canyon Media, this month’s edition features Projekt Listen. A dynamic musical duo composed of twin sisters Brielle and Ari Olson, their original compositions are enchanting audiences all over Southern Utah.

Watch (and hear) Projekt Listen perform live from Cloud 9 Studios at Canyon Media in the media player above.

With a love for the earthy sounds of folk, acoustic and alternative music, Projekt Listen has been crafting its own unique sound in live performances for the past year. Their set on “Paper Jams” saw the sisters alternate between lead vocals and play both acoustic guitar and the cajón, a box-shaped drum from South America.

Showcasing their impressive songwriting skills and tight harmonies, they performed two original songs: “Magnetism” and “Black Bear.” The latter was their first single to be released on Spotify, Apple Music and other streaming platforms.

The Olson twins use music as a language. Each focuses on either melody or lyrics during the creative process, and then they bring the two halves together to make a perfect whole.

Growing up in a musically inclined family, they began to play guitar and sing at an early age. They started to write music together and experiment with harmonies while attending the Tuacahn performing arts high school in Ivins.

Projekt Listen will be performing at the Kayenta Street Painting Festival on April 15. Become part of their “high on life” community through Instagram, TikTok and Facebook, and discover more of their original songs at ProjektListen.com.
