ST. GEORGE — In a building that once stored sugar beet seeds, the St. George Art Museum now holds nearly 1,400 pieces in its Permanent Collection. To help maintain and bolster its collection of art, the St. George Art Museum will hold its annual Soup N’ Bowl fundraiser at the museum on March 3 at 11 a.m., according to a news release issued by the city. All are invited to this event.

Tickets for the Soup N’ Bowl fundraiser are $20 and can be purchased inside the Art Museum before the event or online at this link. Your ticket includes a lunch of soup, bread and dessert — and your choice of locally made bowl.

“The Soup N’ Bowl has often been referred to as one of the best lunchtime activities in St. George,” Gela Smith, an administrative professional for the St. George Art Museum, said in the press release. “In addition to receiving a one-of-a-kind bowl to take home, you can also enjoy some live music with your friends and family while you have a delicious meal and browse the art museum and gift shop.”

Sponsored by Zion’s Bank, the Soup N’ Bowl is a great way to participate in an event whose aim is to help art thrive in the St. George area. Handcrafted bowls were created and donated by local artists and members of the community who participated in the Community Pot Throw Feb. 3.

“Participants will also have the opportunity to purchase items created by local artists, and to meet some of the potters who donated bowls,” Smith added.
