Noah Wilson, loving and adored son, brother, grandson, and friend, passed away on Jan. 18, 2023. Noah was born on Feb. 4, 1997 and raised in St George, Utah.
Noah was an exceptionally talented, creative, and intelligent young man with a wonderful sense of humor. He was positive and caring, loved life and woke up each morning with a smile. Noah possessed an incredible voice and talent for music and found joy in both performance and mentorship. Unlike many artists, Noah also excelled in academics. He graduated as valedictorian of his high school class and was accepted to some of the top performing arts programs in the country including: the Atlantic Acting School at New York University, the University of California San Diego, the American Musical and Dramatic Academy,and the University of San Diego.
Noah chose to continue his love of acting, music, and science by pursuing degrees in both theatre and environmental ocean sciences at USD. While attending school in San Diego, he appeared in multiple stage productions including the Stars of the Future cabaret, Next to Normal and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. As Noah explored his creative interests, he also had the opportunity to spend time in Los Angeles, acting in commercials, short films and television.
Returning to his hometown in 2022, Noah realized the impact he could have on the next generation of creative artists and began music directing and teaching private voice. Utah Arts Academy learned that he had returned and was quick to hire him to music direct the school’s first full-length musical, “Les Misérables.” Noah’s positive effect on the students was so immediate and profound that he was offered a full-time teaching position upon the completion of his theatre education degree, which was close at hand.
Noah loved to travel and treasured trips with his family and friends. He loved computers, gaming, manga and comics, passionately sharing his love of all things Marvel with his mother. Noah enjoyed scuba diving, reading novels, and studying the stars, galaxy, and universe. He could eat eggs benedict for breakfast every morning if possible. He loved to cook and made a delicious pumpkin pie, grilled steak and jambalaya.
His voice echoed through the halls of any place he visited and could easily take an hour-long shower while singing showtunes. He loved to attend musicals on Broadway, always being the best dressed in attendance. Noah loved taking trips to Disneyland and had his ride route down to a science, which included having perfectly timed the most spectacular view of the fireworks at the top of one of his favorite rides.
He was an accomplished swordsman with a beautiful sword collection that he curated with precision. He loved Japan, hoping to visit one day. He studied the culture and taught himself the language to prepare for that adventure.
Everyone who met Noah was blessed by his sweet smile and positive attitude. He faced every challenge with strength and grace. He showed us all what it is to be a truly hardworking, productive, understanding, thoughtful and compassionate individual. His understanding of what is just and unjust, what is righteous and what isn’t was humbling.
