ST. GEORGE — Morning commuters to work and school in St. George had to first dust off some snow from their windshields Monday morning as the greater St. George area received a trace amount of snow.

It was the first measurable snowfall in St. George proper since 2.5 inches of snow fell in St. George between March 12 and March 16 in 2021, according to the National Weather Service.

The weather service says less than an inch of snow is expected by the time the storm is expected to taper off by Monday afternoon. There was still some snow falling as of 11 a.m. in St. George with visibility down to one mile, the weather service said.

Much more snow is coming down further north and in the mountains. A winter storm warning remains in effect through 7 p.m. Monday night in the local mountains, with Brian Head getting up to three inches of additional snow.
