Police: Man found dead after shots fired at St. George residence

ST. GEORGE — Police say a man was found dead of an apparent gunshot wound at a St. George home Wednesday evening.

At approximately 8:30 p.m., the St. George 911 Dispatch Center received a call from the area of 740 N. 1100 East on a domestic violence-related incident.

According to a press release issued by the St. George Police Department, it was reported that a man had threatened several individuals with a firearm. Responding officers heard gunshots upon arrival and were able to take the suspect safely into custody. A second man was found deceased inside the residence, according to police.

Police say there are no outstanding suspects and there is not a threat to the public. No police officers were reported to have fired their weapons during the incident.

Additional victims and witnesses are being interviewed by detectives, according to the press release.

“Please avoid this area as our detectives and officers continue to investigate,” police stated in the press release.
