Diana Loy Litster Woods passed away on Nov. 13, 2022, at the age of 49 at her home in Diamond Valley. She will be missed by her family, children, grandchildren, coworkers and her many friends and loved ones.
Diana was born Aug. 31, 1973, to Diann Parry and Clifford Lloyd Litster in Roosevelt, Utah. Diana has three older brothers, a younger sister and brother. She was the little princess when she came to this life.
Diana had a love for travel that was instilled in her very early. She had many homes and lived in Alaska, Wyoming, New Mexico, Okinawa Japan, Springdale, Roosevelt and St. George Utah.
Diana graduated from Union High School adult education and married her first husband Daniel Knight on her 18th birthday on Aug. 31, 1991. Soon after her first child was born who was named Dalan Joseph, she moved to Okinawa, Japan.
In Japan, a love for all people was instilled in her and she grew spiritually, physically and emotionally. Her second child Dennver Samuel was born in Japan. Eventually, Diana moved back to the United States and finally settled in Altamont, Utah, where her next two children were born, Drake Hyrum and Dade Dennis. While in Altamont, Diana raised her four sons and spent all her waking moments caring for them. Those kids, who she was around all the time, were all loved by her deeply. She went to every football game, wrestling tournament, ultimate fighting matches, did crafts together, taught her kids self-reliance, taught her kids how to do the little things like laundry, dishes, and how to work. As quoted by her mom, “She was the kind of mom I wanted to be, and never wasn’t. She took the best of all her parents and made it her own. She was great wife to Dan”.
Diana found the love of her life Kelly Lyman Woods later in her life at the age of 47. Wanting to break tradition, they decided to elope to Hawaii. She was married on Dec. 21, 2020, in Hawaii. This date was chosen by her and Kelly because it was the shortest day of the year. They both knew that the days would become much longer, which meant that longer and hotter days were coming; summer was her favorite season.
Diana’s love of travel blossomed, and she and Kelly began to travel the world. They visited many places and spent all their time together. She was able to go to Africa on safari and do hunting on her own, which brought her great satisfaction. Also, she was able to travel to New York City, Nashville, Tennessee and went to eight other new states. She was adventurous and decided to start racing dwarf cars with her husband Kelly; she was fearless. She was always looking for the next exciting adventure.
Diana’s family grew even bigger when she was married, and she became the mother and grandmother to a whole new family and gave her whole heart to them. Diana was a perfect mother to all her children. If Diana had a dream, it was for all of her children to be together in one place where she could hug, adore, and love each of them. Diana had a tender heart and was very quick to make friends. She loved to laugh and sing and be the life of the party. It was not uncommon to see people surround her desk at work or talking to people wherever she went. She loved her four biological children, and Kelly’s seven children, including Kelly’s late sister’s four children.
Being a mother was everything to Diana. Children always had a special place in her heart and for those blessed grandchildren whose lives she was a part of. They will always remember her for the love she gave them. Her grandkids were her whole world. The joy was evident on Diana’s face when she was holding her grandbabies and it was infectious. Diana had the ability to light up any room she was in, and every person walked away from interacting with her with a smile, and a big piece of the love in her heart, that she freely gave them.
Diana was generous, kind, loving, strong, stubborn, adventurous, funny and full of life. She loved deeply and gave those she loved everything she had.
She loved her husband Kelly. Every day she showed that love with insistent kisses and hugs. She loved going everywhere with Kelly and he loved going everywhere with her. Kelly and Diana did more in their two years together than most people do in a lifetime. Kelly loved her more than life itself. She was the glue that held him together. Kelly wishes to make this statement, “Please love easier, love longer, forgive quickly and hug whenever possible. Our time with our loved ones is unknown and our lives are about creating long-lasting relationships. Thank you all friends and family for loving us so much”.
She is survived by her husband Kelly Lyman Woods; sons Dalan and Rayssaline, Dennver and Rebeca, Drake and Shalissa, Dade and Makell and two granddaughters Raylee and Mavery; Kelly’s children Wesley Woods and Ralph Marquez, Brindley Woods, Harrison and Jada Woods, Lynda Valadez, Hailey and Merrill Cox, Savannah and Mike Accordino, and Kelli Elaina Woods; bonus children Josie and Jakiah Curran, Joe Acosta, Skye Acosta, and Nadia Acosta; grandchildren, laid to rest earlier in life Hazel Woods-Bronson, Logan Valadez, Wade Valadez, and Emery Cox, and soon to be baby to Savannah and Mike Accordino. Bonus grandchildren, Melanie Curran, Faith Curran, and Amelia Curran; her parents Cliff and Aida Litster and Diann and Richard Wymer. Her siblings Tony and LeAnn, Guy and Vicky, Teri and Sheryl, Katie and Michael Gordon, Randy and Daria Litster; bonus siblings Ricky and Cynda, Eddie and Sonia, James and Tabitha, John and Krystina-Wymer; 42 nieces and nephews and 27 great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be on Friday, Nov. 18, at 11 a.m. The viewing will be from 9:-10:30 a.m., at Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S. Bluff St., St. George, Utah.
Interment will take place at Tonaquint Cemetery, 1777 S Dixie Dr, St. George, Utah.
