At approximately 1:59 p.m, the Utah Highway Patrol was dispatched to the scene of a rollover crash at the intersection of I-15 and state Route 9, UHP Sgt. Brian Peterson said in a phone interview with St. George News.

A white Toyota Highlander and a Subaru Outback were both traveling northbound. The Outback was in the right lane, while the Highlander was in the middle lane, Peterson said.

The vehicles reportedly sideswiped each other, causing the Highlander to cross to the left, go into the median and roll multiple times, Peterson said.

The Outback’s driver pulled over on the right shoulder after the collision, he said.

UHP is still investigating the cause of the wreck and it is not yet clear which vehicle left its lane, contributing to the crash, Peterson said.

A male driver and female passenger occupied the Highlander and were both transported to the hospital but Peterson didn’t know the extent of their injuries. The Outback’s male driver was also transported with minor injuries. All occupants were reportedly wearing seat belts.

The Hurricane Valley Fire Department and the Washington City Police Department also responded to the call.
