Zeal Bob ‘Bodie’ Bodenhamer

July 20, 1939-Oct. 22, 2022

Zeal Bob “Bodie” Bodenhamer, 83, passed away at his granddaughter’s home in Panguitch, Utah, on Oct. 22, 2022.  Bodie was born July 20, 1939, in Enid, Oklahoma, to Joseph Forrest Bodenhamer and Evelyn Alveretta Arnold.

In 1959, Bodie married the love of his life, Olie Gail Brannon in San Francisco, California. They remarried in 1987 in the Fern Grotto, Kauai, Hawaii.

Bodie served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a very proud member of the American Legion Post 90 serving in the Honor Guard and as Master of Arms. As a member of Honor Guard, Bodie performed military honors at funerals for military veterans for nearly 10 years. He always felt very honored to be able to perform this ritual.

Bodie loved horses and rural living. He bought his and Gail’s dream home in Hurricane, Utah, in 2012 where they enjoyed it together until Gail passed away in 2021. Bodie enjoyed watching his children grow up and start families as well as watching his grandchildren grow up and start families of their own. Bodie was so excited to have a great-grandson and a great-granddaughter to spoil.

He is survived by his daughter Cheryl Berry (Ed) of Panguitch, Utah, son-Randy Bodenhamer (Jeannine) of Grass Valley, California, granddaughters Ashley Albright (Cody) of Corpus Christi, Texas, Jessica Bradshaw (Michael) of Panguitch, Utah, and great-grandchildren Trevyn and Kashmier.

He is preceded in death by his wife Olie Gail Brannon, his parents Forrest and Evelyn Bodenhamer and his brothers Jimmie Bodenhamer and Ronald Bodenhamer.

Bodie requested that his ashes be spread in Fern Grotto, Kauai, Hawaii, where Gail’s ashes were spread, so he can forever be with his true love.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Oct. 27, at 1 p.m. at Pine View Mortuary, 556 N. Mall Drive, St. George.

Thank you to Intermountain Hospice and the staff at Garfield Memorial Hospital for all of your loving care and attention.
