According to the Iron County Sheriff’s office, the crash was roughly two miles north of Newcastle, Utah, on an unnamed dirt road.

The female driver, age 14, might have overcorrected as driving conditions were dry, Sgt. Caleb Anderson of the Iron County Sheriff’s office, said. Her brother, 12 years old, said he was asleep and woke up on the ground. The male is reported to have a broken femur. The driver’s injuries are unknown.

Anderson said the siblings were lucky to have survived the crash as they were not wearing seatbelts. One of the occupants was transported by Intermountain Life Fligt and the other  by Gold Cross Ambulance to St. George Regional Hospital, Anderson said.
