ST. GEORGE — It’s football season again, and “What’s on the Menu” host Sheldon Demke was looking to score a touchdown on some good eats at Bloomington Country Club.
This week, his partner in crime was the new voice of the Utah Tech Trailblazers, the legendary Rod Zundel. Both are local celebrities, and both love great food.
Score on some amazing, all-American snacks with Sheldon and Rod in this week’s episode of “What’s on the Menu” in the media player above.
They started with a classic finger food, the SunRiver Sliders. Toasted buns, grilled ham and Swiss cheese served with crispy onion straws and creamy poppyseed dipping sauce.
“This is not your chain restaurant slider, man,” Zundel said. “It was just juicy enough where it didn’t dribble all over ya, but it almost did. That’s what makes a good slider.”
Next, the BCC Sticky Wings. These ooey-gooey delights are served with your choice of honey garlic, barbecue, Thai chili or Bloomington sauce.
They also dug into one of the restaurant’s signature burgers. Demke proclaimed the Bloomington Burger, with its jalapeños, onion straws, pepper Jack cheese and the same delicious sauce they enjoyed on their wings, “the god of burgers.”
“They put in a lot of work to create this amazing burger, and it shows,” he said. “Delicious to the last bite.”
Enjoy savory dishes that accent red rock surrounded golf course views at Bloomington County Club. The new menu provides a casual yet elegant dining experience sure to satisfy even the most particular guest’s palette.
The restaurant also has a full bar, so Demke had to sample the Bloomarita. The weather is still warm enough to enjoy the pool, so make sure to stop by the drink shack while you’re there. They’re famous for their dirty Dr. Peppers.
And if you love football, Monday night at Bloomington Country Club is the place to be. Guests get a special menu loaded with amazing food, and Devin Dixon from the 99.5 FM FOX Sports Southern Utah radio crew will be broadcasting live. It’s free and open to the public.
