Utah Sen. Dan McCay, R-Riverton, a member of the task force, tweeted an illustration Wednesday evening of 19 Utah-themed flag designs which he called a “sneak peek,” while hinting that more information might be released on Thursday.

“Each design is inspired by a Utahn (or many) and represents hours of collaboration and volunteer design work,” his tweet read, in part. “They are rich with meaning and share a strong connection to Utah.”

Members of the Utah Department of Cultural and Community Engagement, which is also engaged in the process, told KSL.com in June that they had hoped to have final designs ready by the end of August. That came as members of the task force and a design review committee began reviewing the 5,703 designs submitted earlier in the year.

Flag designs inspired by Utahns’ ideas are posted for review and public comment on Flag.Utah.gov/final-flag-designs.
