Mack Alonzo Snow

Feb. 7, 1938-Aug. 26, 2022

Mack Alonzo Snow passed away peacefully Aug. 26, 2022, at his home in St. George, Utah, surrounded by loved ones. Mack was born Feb. 7, 1938, in Payson, Utah, to Glendon Ware and Ida Elizabeth Wall Snow. Mack grew up in Castle Dale and attended South Emery High School. He later attended College of Southern Utah (now Southern Utah University) and Utah State University.

While attending the College of Southern Utah, Mack met the love of his life, Kathleen Applegate. They were married Sept. 6, 1960, in the St. George Temple. They are the parents of six children, 23 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Mack had a long career with the Bureau of Land Management as a civil engineer on the Arizona Strip. After retiring from the BLM, he drove the activity school bus and always tried to be scheduled for the trips his grandchildren were taking. As a grandpa, Mack became a kid again. Spending time with his grandchildren at the cabin, on the Jeep and many ATV rides were his favorite thing in the world.

Mack was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had many church callings from scout leader to serving in the bishopric and fixed many Dutch oven dinners through the years. He said his best talks were given from the tailgate of a pickup truck or sitting on a 4-wheeler.

Mack is welcomed into the arms of his parents, sisters Virginia Snow and Imogene Wright, brothers Stanley and Boyd and his precious granddaughter Lindsey Snow. He is survived by his sister Kathryn Killpack Tarter, loving wife Kathleen Applegate Snow, children Scott Mack (Laurie), Jed Alonzo, KayLynn Jensen (Vern), Sue Ann Stevens (Karl), Kim Applegate and Karen Whipple (Darrick).

Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 2, at 11 a.m. at the LDS St. George East Stake Center, 449 S. 300 E., St. George, Utah.
