ST. GEORGE — The pending arrival of a heat dome has forced the Trailblazers to wait just a little bit longer.

According to a press release, Utah Tech University’s football season opener at Sacramento State has been moved back to 8:30 p.m. (MDT) Saturday at Hornet Stadium.

Day time temperatures in Sacramento, California, are expected to reach 110 degrees.

The game will be a rematch. The defending Big Sky Conference champion Hornets beat Utah Tech 19-7 last year in Greater Zion Stadium.

Utah Tech is 3-13 all-time in season openers for the program while head coach Paul Peterson is 1-2 in his three years directing the sideline in opening games.

The game will be broadcast live on Fox Sports Southern Utah on 99.5 FM and 95.3 FM St. George and 1400 AM in Cedar City.
