After heavy rains hit Southern Utah Thursday, the park announced on Twitter that the Emerald Pools and Kayenta trails would be closed while trail crews assessed on-the-ground conditions.

Park spokesman Jonathan Shafer said more details would be released Friday after the assessment’s results become available.

This is a developing story.
