SALT LAKE CITY — Latino artists have the opportunity to win up to $900 in this year’s LatinArte competition.

The competition is a partnership between the Mexican Consulate and Artes de Mexico, who combined their art contests this year. The theme is “Nuestras Raíces,” or “Our Roots.”

Participants must be residents of Utah who were born in or whose parents were born in Mexico, Central America or South America. Adults and high school students are welcome to compete.

Accepted works of arts include drawings, paintings, photos, sculptures and mixed media. Submissions will be accepted through Aug. 25 and the results will be announced on Sept. 30.
