St. George woman handcrafts udderly great farmhouse decor

ST. GEORGE —From farmhouse-inspired vases to funny signs that’ll make you laugh out loud, a St. George woman brings new life to the home decor scene in Washington County through rustic, handmade items so beautiful and versatile, they’ll make your head spin.

Tricia Pierce, a nail technician and artist in many forms, said she branched off and began to create her own rustic farmhouse decor four years ago out of both necessity and a love for the craft.

“Shopping for decor in Southern Utah sucks,” Pierce said. “You just can’t find it here. That’s what got me to create it myself.”

As she began to research various projects and found items she loved online and in stores, Pierce began to replicate them for herself while adding her own personal spin on them. These craft creations led to a DIY Farmhouse Decor TikTok account, where she provided tutorials so others could make them themselves.

With packaging being a very daunting task to ensure the fragile items don’t break, she hopes to tap more into the local market in Washington County, which she now does by attending weekend markets like the Washington market and the St. George Downtown Farmers Market.

She has loved the people she has met through her business and enjoys the conversation-starters that some of her vinyl work inspires.

“I love the farmhouse look,” she said. “It’s so charming and makes any house a home. It’s extremely versatile – you can put a traditional or industrial spin on it.”

Pierce said she puts love and work into each item and builds everything from scratch until it’s done. The process includes woodcutting, painting, placing vinyl and more. She knows that money is tight for most people right now, which is why she keeps her costs extremely affordable without sacrificing quality.

Also a nail technician, Pierce said that she spends the first half of the day doing nails, and the second half creating home decor. With the main focus on growing her farmhouse decor business, Pierce said she hopes for it to become a full-time venture. Aside from the home decor, she also makes car coasters, koozies, earrings, hats, aprons, keychains, camp bucket lanterns and even homemade jelly – all of which are for sale and can be seen at the events and locations below.

Rustic Daisy Decor can be seen weekly at the St. George Downtown Farmers Market. To see the many available items for sale on Facebook Marketplace, click here. Reach out to Tricia Pierce on Facebook directly for custom orders or questions.
