Larry Kilcrease

Aug. 6, 1946-June 20, 2022

Larry “Killer” Kilcrease passed away after a long battle with cancer on June 20, 2022, in Hurricane, Utah, surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born Aug. 6, 1946, in Price to Garland Kilcrease and Lucille Steel. He was married to Carol Cave Kilcrease on Feb. 25, 1967, in Price.

Larry dedicated his life to working in the coal mines. He worked as an underground coal miner for 27 years in Huntington, Utah, until he moved to Olympia, Washington, where he began his career as an open-pit miner. Later Larry and Carol would move to Gold Canyon, Arizona, where Larry retired from coal mining.

You knew he loved you when he gave you a hard time. Larry loved to hunt, fish, do yard work, tinker in his garage and tease his wife just to get a rise out of her. Some of Larry’s most precious moments were with his grandchildren, nephews and niece. Larry loved his dogs Sofie, Solomon, Trixie and Tink. Some of his favorite TV shows were Fox News, Gold Rush, Deadliest Catch and watching the Kansas City Chiefs.

Larry and Carol spent 55 years creating a beautiful life together while raising two amazing children. He is survived by his spouse Carol Kilcrease of Hurricane, Utah; daughter Leslie Marsing of Hurricane; grandchildren Martin Marsing of Salt Lake City, Brittney Kilcrease of Bellevue, Washington, Mykela “kk” Marsing of Salt Lake City, Utah and Madyson “his baby” Marsing of Logan, Utah; his sister Margret and Linda, Judy, Pam and Mike.

The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses at St George Regional Hospital. And a special thanks to his cancer doctor David M Adams.

Larry was proceeded in death by his son Dwayne Scott Kilcrease, parents Garland and Lucille, sister Ramona, brothers Brent, Gary and Don, brother-in-law Kelly Fawsett, son-in-law Troy Marsing and mother and father-in-law Bill and Olympia Cave.

At Larry’s request, he is being cremated and at a later date and time there will be a celebration of his life.

Papa, we love you more than all the stars in heaven, all the granules of sand and more than that.

Arrangements are under the direction of Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S Bluff St., St. George, 435-673-2454. Family and friends are invited to sign Larry’s online guest book.
