APPLE VALLEY — One person was killed in a two-vehicle, head-on collision near Apple Valley Monday evening.
The crash occurred at approximately 4:30 p.m. and involved two Chevy Silverados traveling on state Route 59 in Washington County. One of the pickups was black and one was gray, said Roden.
The gray truck drifted over the center line while driving east near mile marker 9 and collided head-on with the black, westbound vehicle, Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Cameron Roden said .
Both drivers reportedly were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, said Roden.
An adult female passenger, who was in the black truck’s front seat, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on-site, according to a UHP press release.
While the cause is still under investigation, law enforcement believes fatigue could have been a factor, Roden said.
The Colorado City Fire Department, Washington County Emergency Management Services, Hildale Fire Department, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Colorado City Marshals and Utah Department of Transportation Incident Management also responded to the call.
