The two-day meet attracted more than 50 schools large and small from all around Utah, plus several teams from the neighboring states of Wyoming, Idaho and Nevada. Team scores were classified together into two groups, smaller (1A-3A) and larger (4A-6A) schools.

Among the highlights for Southern Utah schools was Cedar High School winning the boys 4×800-meter relay in 8:01.71. That time, set by Reds teammates Braxten Gifford, Spencer Shakespeare, Logan Peel and Seth Sonerholm, is a new school record, according to Cedar coach Greg Harris.

Canyon View High School took first place among smaller schools in the girls 4×400 relay, posting a time of 3:57.68.

Among the larger schools, Snow Canyon junior Bo Hickman won the javelin with a throw of 185 feet, 7.5 inches. Hickman’s best effort came on his third of his six throws.

And in the smaller schools category, Southern Utah athletes won both javelin events. Millard senior Mary DeGraffenreid won the 1A-3A girls event with a throw of 136 feet, 1.75 inches, while Panguitch senior Kyler Bennett won the boys javelin with a throw of 167 feet, 2.25 inches.
