The crash involved a blue P.T. Cruiser with three occupants and a gray Hyundai Santa Fe occupied by a driver, Cedar City Police Sgt. Tim Bonzo said.

At approximately 11:12 a.m, the Santa Fe driver attempted a left turn off Fir Street to travel south when the vehicle collided with the northbound P.T. Cruiser in the inside lane. The driver of the Santa Fe thought it was clear to go because of other vehicles, Bonzo said.

The P.T. Cruisers’s driver sustained minor injuries after biting through her lower lip and was treated in a Gold Cross Ambulance at the scene, Bonzo said. No other injuries or property damages have been reported.

The inside and turning lanes were both closed for 30-40 minutes, Bonzo said.

Cedar City Police officer C. Pettit confirmed during a phone call with Cedar City News that the driver of the Santa Fe was cited at the scene.

The Cedar City Fire Department also responded to the call.

This report is based on information provided by law enforcement and may not contain the full scope of findings.

Update May 2, 8:35 p.m. Model of vehicle (P.T. Cruiser) corrected.
