Hassan Mansour Sakkez

July 16, 2000 – April 20, 2022

Hassan Mansour Sakkez, 21, passed away on April 20, 2022, in St. George. Hassan was born on July 16, 2000, in Kuwait City, Kuwait, to parents Mansour H. Sakkez and Susan R. Jenkins Sakkez.

Hassan grew up and lived in Kuwait until he was 15 years old. Hassan was a passionate, talented, and versatile athlete. His first love was baseball as part of the Kuwait Little League, participating in tournaments in the Middle East and Poland. He loved fishing, playing soccer, basketball, volleyball and more recently, boxing. He also became an accomplished horseman during one of his life experiences.

Hassan graduated high school from Southwest High in St. George and was studying online with the Stringham School for Real Estate. He was also accepted to Dixie State University and was interested in their entrepreneurial program as he was constantly exploring various business ideas.

Hassan was affectionately known to his family as “Hassoona Basha.” Hassan will be forever remembered for his smile that would light up the room and energy that was full of enthusiasm that was true to his heart. His hugs were those that would warm your heart. He is described by family and friends as smart, loyal, hardworking, spontaneous, and strong-willed that allowed him to achieve any goal he had in mind, and he had many!

His untimely death in a tragic car accident has left a hole in the hearts of all that have known and loved him. Hassan preferred to give than receive and in keeping with his spirit, he was a registered donor; and out of this tragedy, we know that in this loss of a truly unique individual, he will be helping so many.

Hassan is survived by his parents Mansour and Susan Sakkez; older sister, Yasmine M. Sakkez; older brother, Ali M. Sakkez as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins in Kuwait, Rhode Island, Nebraska, Alaska, and California. He is preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.

A private visitation was held for immediate family on April 22, 2022, at Metcalf Mortuary, St. George, UT. The family would like to thank the Muslim community representatives who provided special prayers for Hassan. We would also like to thank family and friends for your prayers and consoling words during this very difficult time.

In lieu of funeral services and sending flowers, we ask that all who wish to participate make a donation in his name and memory to a charity of your choice.
