Regionally affected communities and points of interest in Washington County include St. George, Hurricane and Ivins from 2 p.m. Tuesday afternoon until 9 p.m. MDT. Residents should prepare for southwest winds of 20-30 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph throughout lower Washington County, the advisory states.

Residents and visitors of Bryce Canyon and southcentral Utah, including the cities of Bryce Canyon City, Kanab and Escalante, are also being warned of strong winds. An advisory issued early Monday morning states that a wind advisory is in effect Tuesday from noon until 9 p.m. According to the National Weather Service, southwest winds of 25-35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph are expected in these areas.

Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects and power outages are possible, the advisory adds. Travel may be difficult due to crosswinds.

Motorists are encouraged to use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high-profile vehicle or a vehicle pulling a trailer. Expect rough conditions on all area lakes. Patchy blowing dust may limit visibility at times.
