ST. GEORGE — Hundreds of people gathered in the auditorium at Pine View High School Saturday afternoon at the memorial service for Major Don Richardson.
After the former airman and instructor in Pine View’s JROTC program passed away March 31, tributes began pouring in from all around the country and the world.
St. George News interviewed his colleagues in an article published earlier this week. Richardson, a decorated war hero, was instrumental in growing the enrollment and enthusiasm for the JROTC program at Pine View.
His presence was strongly felt Saturday as family members, friends, service members and colleagues all paid tribute to Richardson.
After the memorial, Richardson’s internment took place at Tonaquint Cemetery, where the service was conducted with full military honors.
