Steven Ricky Price was booked into Iron County Jail shortly after noon on Sunday after agents with the Iron-Garfield-Beaver Narcotics Task Force had executed a search warrant at his home.

According to the probable cause statement filed in support of his arrest, Price sold methamphetamine to a confidential informant on at least three separate occasions since January. The quantities purchased ranged from 1 gram to 2.8 grams, the document states.

Task force officers on Sunday reportedly found various quantities of drugs and paraphernalia at Price’s residence, located in unincorporated Iron County west of Enoch, near 2500 West and 5500 North.

The task force’s search of the residence yielded the following, according to the affidavit:

  • Approximately 32 grams of meth in an empty chew can, plus a large chunk in a clear plastic baggie.
  • A large coffee can containing 161 grams of suspected marijuana.
  • A lockbox containing paraphernalia and 30 grams of suspected meth, in addition to 15 grams of psilocybin mushrooms.

Additionally, agents reportedly found a tactical shotgun inside a bedroom closet.

As of Monday, Price is being held without bail in Iron County Jail on suspicion of several charges, including possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana and paraphernalia and possession of a firearm by a restricted person.

Utah court records show Price has a lengthy criminal history dating back more than 30 years, including multiple felony convictions.

Price’s most recent case in 5th District Court is pending; it involves similar drug possession and weapons charges, stemming from his November 2020 arrest in connection with a string of storage unit burglaries in the Cedar City area. While that case has been met with several delays and continuances over the past year or so, a pretrial conference has been scheduled for Sept. 6.
