IVINS —  It’s nearly spring in southern Utah, which means it’s time for St. George’s signature sunny weather and spring concerts in Tuacahn’s outdoor amphitheatre.

Featuring a mixture of original and tribute musicians, solo and ensemble acts, dancers and comedians, the level of talent in Tuacahn’s concert lineup is doing what southern Utah is doing: Growing every year.

“It’s really remarkable what we’re able to schedule in just a few weekends each year,” said Jeff Martin, Tuacahn concert programmer. “This year we are excited to welcome back a long-time Tuacahn favorite, The Piano Guys, and we are thrilled to finally have The Temptations, a group I’ve been wanting to book for a long time.”

Not only that, this year Tuacahn welcomes Tapestry: The Music of Carole King on March 12, featuring all the favorites including “One Fine Day,” “I Feel the Earth Move” and “The LocoMotion.”

Bringing a wealth of talent and experience to the stage, this Carole King tribute concert pays homage to the delightful sounds of Carole King, taking audiences on a trip down memory lane.

“Every year we like to have just a sprinkling of tribute bands in the schedule,” Martin said. “We like to showcase the real deal as much as possible but tributes are an important part of what we do. Often tribute groups allow people to enjoy a live version of certain artists that wouldn’t be possible to enjoy in any other format.

Offering a unique piece to the concert lineup, the TEDxStGeorge event takes center stage on April 8. This inaugural event features 10 speakers who will address a wide range of topics.

“It’s like going to a brain spa,” said Jami Lah, executive director for TEDxStGeorge. “It’s a fast moving, engaging experience.”

If comedy is more your speed, Larry the Cable Guy will “Git-R-Done” on April 23. This multi-platinum recording artist, Grammy nominee and Billboard award winner has been bringing tears of laughter to the eyes of audiences for years as one of the Blue Collar Comedians.

“There’s really something for everyone’s entertainment palate,” Martin said. “People love the opportunities to see their favorite stars and often the concerts sell out.”
